Live Podcast: Featured Guest Zoë Keating, Cellist and Composer

This week we have a special treat on The A-List, a wonderful, one-woman powerhouse of a musician, Zoë Keating.

Recently named one of the Hot 20 people of 2009 by 7×7 magazine, they dubbed her, “Avant-Cellist.” It’s a fitting description, but for my part, I am interested in the way Zoë has used the Web and social media to engage with and stay in touch with her fans.

With more than 1.3 million followers on Twitter (@zoecello), she describes herself there as, “Cello, computers and pancakes. The daily twitterings of a professional avant cellist and amateur nerd.” A wonderfully humble description for an immense and innovative talent.

I am thrilled Zoë was able to join the program. Listen to the archive here:

That’s a Wrap!: LeWeb 2009

This week we’re wrapping up the LeWeb conference, held December 9th and 10th in Paris, France.

It might have been a bit dreary and wet, but when it’s Paris, who can complain?

You might be asking yourself, ‘why this big deal around LeWeb?’ Well, it’s a huge deal, actually. When you consider the Internet is something almost all of us have in common, I feel it’s important to reach as many key influencers outside the US as in it. To see what trends the market is responding to and the approach companies in Europe and elsewhere are taking to meet coming needs.

LeWeb is the largest conference of its kind – more than 2,000 people from across the globe came in to attend – and even one queen – Queen Raina of Jordan with her 1GOAL initative. But we’ll get to that in a bit.

Listen to the wrap program here:

I have a double-hitter on The A-List for you this week, starting with someone once named Sexiest Geek.

It’s none other than Miz Veronica Belmont who joins the program to talk tech, gadgets, games and I’ll ask where she’d like to see all this acclaim eventually take her.

In the meantime, you can listen to the archive of the September 17th show using the player below or this link:
